This is an exquisite sculpture of Goddess Lakshmi, the Goddess of wealth and prosperity. Notice the calm expression on her beautiful face. This sculpture can either be worshipped in the puja room or placed anywhere to enhance the room’s beauty.
In this sculpture, Lakshmi can be seen with 4 hands. One hand has the Abhaya mudra; Abhaya means ‘do not fear’ as the protection of this Goddess is with you at all times. The other hand has the Varada mudra that grants boons to devotees. The other 2 hands are holding lotus flowers. The Goddess is seated on a pedastal of a double Lotus. The carving and proportions of the sculpture are carefully crafted to give an appearance of divine grace and beauty.
The sculpture is made of Pancha Loga or a mixture of 5 metals. It is made using the lost wax method that is exclusive to Tamil Nadu in South India.
